NEWELL – Thelma M. Drum, 93, of Newell passed away Monday, June 29, 2009
She was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Ohio, a daughter of the late Sherry and Margaret Smith Swift.
Thelma retired after teaching school for over 30 years with the Hancock County School System. She was a member of the Newell First Church of the Nazarene and the Hancock County Retired Teachers Association.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Drum; and two brothers, Stanley Swift and Lawrence Swift.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy DeBee of East Liverpool; two granddaughters, Krista DeBee of East Liverpool and Alissa Butler of California; three great-grandsons, Payton, Hayden and Brice.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the Newell First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Everett Clay officiating.
The i8nterment will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery, Chester
