Services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester for Mrs. Lottie Smith Cronin, 77, of 512 5th St., Chester.
She died Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was visiting a daughter when she became ill. She had been failing since May.
A native of Western Ohio, she was born Nov. 9, 1895, a daughter of William Applegate and Melissa Crawford Applegate. She retired in 1946 from the Homer Laughlin China Co. She had resided in the Chester area virtually her lifetime. Her husband, Howard A. Cronin, died Oct. 10, 1947.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Florence) Haney of Chester and Mrs. Newton (Catherine) Atkinson of Osage, W. VA.; three sons, Harold A. Cronin Jr. of New Cumberland, Edward E. Cronin of East Liverpool and Hunter L Cronin of Charleston, S. C.; a sister, Mrs. Floyd Burwell , and a brother, Arthur Applegate, both of Michigan. 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great -great –grandchildren.
The Rev. Willard C. Billica of the Chester First Presbyterian Church will conduct the Tuesday services. Burial will be in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell.
Friends may call at the chapel this afternoon and tonight and Tuesday up to the time of service.
