Virgil E. Streets, 78, a tireless worker, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 9, 1930 in Hastings, WV, the son of the late Enos and Lulu Morgan Streets. He was also preceded in death by a son, Virgil E. Streets Jr.; a granddaughter, Sherry Higgins; four brothers and two sisters.
Virgil retired from the TOC Dept. at the former Crucible Steel in Midland where he had worked 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Geer Streets; a daughter, Barbara Higgins of Chester; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, including Travis Higgins, whom he raised.
Family services was private and interment was made at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester.
The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester was in charge of arrangements.
