Anna Zagula, 98, of Fourth Street Chester, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Stone Pear Pavilion at Foxcrest where she had been a patient since May. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Verna and Stella Zagula; and four brothers, Julian, Charles, Walter, and Francis Zagula.
She was born August 14, 1911 in Chester, a daughter of the late Jacob and Sofia Bednarz Zagula.
A retired ware dresser at Homer Laughlin China Co, Anna was a life long member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester where she was a member of Ladies Guild.
She is survived by two sisters, Emily Mercina and husband Tom of Lisbon and Angie Kurty and husband Pete of Toronto; three nieces; one nephew; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Rev. Father Eric Antwi will be the celebrant for a mass of Christian burial with liturgy today, Thursday, Oct 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. a the church. Interment will be at Locust Hill Cemetery. Arner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
