Death Claims Woman at 94
Mrs. Robert Dixon’s Rites Slated Monday
LISBON – Mrs. Martha (Maddie) Dixon, 94, of Thomas Rd. died at 10 a.m. today at Salem City Hospital, where she had been a patient about two weeks. She had been in failing health for a number of years.
Born July 8, 1864, in Lisbon, a daughter of John and Mary Jane Hutcheson Ewing, she lived in this vicinity all her life. She was a member of the Lisbon Methodist Church. Her husband, Robert Dixon, died in 1944.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by three sons, Bert Dixon, Earl Dixon and Ralph Dixon, all of Lisbon, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Hammerton. Burial will be in the Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
