Theodore Cheney, 79, of Westfield Rd., a World War I veteran, died Tuesday at 10 p.m. at City Hospital after an illness of two years.
A native of Ravenswood, W. Va., Mr. Cheney was born Sept. 25, 1887, a son of the late Russell Cheney and Lodena Hutchinson Cheney. He came here in 1910 and worked as a harnessmaker until 1923, when he left for Toledo, where he was employed as an upholsterer for an auto plant. He returned here two years ago. He was a member of the Ceramic City band.
He is survived by a brother Emmett Cheney of Westfield, and a sister, Mrs. Thodosia Wood of East Liverpool
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. B. E. McDonald of the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday night.
