MECHANICSTOWN – Howard M. Johnston, 8, of 8284 Blossom Rd., died Friday at 4:45 p.m. at home following an apparent heart attack.
A retired livestock dealer, Mr. Johnston was born Oct. 5, 1895, in Fox Township, a son of Thomas Johnston and Annie Orwick Johnston. He was a lifetime area resident and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church at Scroggsfield.
His wife, Lena Johnston, died last November.
Survivors include two sons, Wilfred (Bud) Johnston of Salineville, RD 3 and Clifford Johnston of Lisbon; three daughters, Mrs. Wilfred (Louise) Marshall of Mechanicstown, Mrs. Frederick (Marjorie) Hemming of Carrollton and Mrs. Edwin (Vera) Palmer of Bergholz; two brothers, Fred Johnston of Salineville and Walter Johnston of Alliance; a sister, Mrs. Florence Fergason of Salineville; 14 grandchildren and 15 freat-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Manning Funeral Home in Salineville by the Rev. John Mather. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and night.
