EAST PALESTINE – Frank Golicic, 89, of N. Summer St., a retired self-employed coal miner, died Sunday at 9:50 a.m. at Salem Community Hospital, East, where he had been a patient since Friday.
He was born Oct. 4, 1881, in Yugoslavia, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Golicic. He came to East Palestine at the age of 18 and later moved to Arboal, Ark. He returned here in 1924. Before retiring in 1958, he had been with the Kenmar Manufacturing Co.
He was president and treasurer of the American Fraternal Union Lodge 41 here. His wife the former Frances Brodesko, whom he married in 1899, died in 1928.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn J. VanFossan, with whom he resided; three sons, Frank J. Golicic of Port Austin, Mich., Joseph J. Golicic and William J. Golicic, both of East Palestine, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home here, where friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Charles Doughty of the Lake Mount Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
