EAST PALESTINE—Mrs. Sarah E. VanKirk, 251 E. North Ave., a resident of this area for some 40 years, died this morning about 7 at the Youngstown South Side Hospital.
Mrs. VanKirk, 88, had suffered a hip injury in a fall last week at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Russell Harrold, with whom she resided, and had been in Salem City Hospital.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mears, she was born at Stoneboro, Pa., Sept. 15, 1869. She was married in 1909 to Alex VanKirk, who died in 1944.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by a son, Charles VanKirk of Akron, and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the VanDyke Funeral Home by the Rev. E. G. Diehm of The Church of the Brethren of Woodworth. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Youngstown.
