Margaret “Sis” Cullen Campbell, 96, of Weirton, formerly of New Cumberland passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008.
She was born April 17, 1912, in New Cumberland, a daughter of the late Mark and Anna Settle Cullen. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wade Campbell; a great-grandchild, Anne Renee Spiers and a sister, June McAtee.
Margaret graduated from New Cumberland High School and after graduating from West Liberty College, she taught at the Ferndale School, that at Jefferson, a one room school on Wiley Ridge. She then taught and retired as an elementary school teacher at the New Cumberland School. She was loved by her students and will always be remembered for her Jane and I stories.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara “Bobbie” Seals Williams of Crocus, KY and Wadeanne (Nick) Nardo of Weirton; seven grandchildren, Stephan D. Seals, Mark W. Seals, Christine Seals Weimer, Joel Campbell Seals, Megen Smith, Mike Nardo and Tony Nardo; seventeen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 21, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the New Cumberland Christian Church with Pastor Rick Tinsky officiating. Interment followed a the New Cumberland Cemetery.
The New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the New Cumberland Christian Church or the American Heart Association.
