ALIQUIPPA – Joanne Louise Perkins, 64, formerly of Wellsville, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born in Wellsville Sept. 16, 1939, a daughter of the late General Lee and Mary Frances Jackson Martin.
Joanne was a 1957 graduate of Wellsville High School and a member of the Baptist Church. She worked as a laundry associate for Motel 6 in Coraopolis, Pa., and was an avid bowler participating in the SAC Bowling League, the Friday Morning Strike Outs and the Tru-Shot Mixed League at the Baden Bowl.
Survivors include her husband, William Perkins, at home, whom she married May 27, 1972; two daughters, Belinda Cook of Atlanta, Ga., and Mary Cook of New York, N.Y.; a son, Willie Cook of Aliquippa; two sister, Charlotte Collins of Wellsville and Patricia Pullie and her husband Luther of Wellsville; and three brothers, John Henry Martin and his wife Verneta of Wellsville, Milton Martin and his wife Donnie of Toledo and Paul Martin and his wife Marcella of Charlotte, N. C. There are three grandchildren, Todd, Erik and Ashlee Cook
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Phillip of Central United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be private, but the funeral is open to friends and neighbors of the family.
