Mary Ellen Sloan “Mamaw” Maze
Died Dec. 2, 2003

EAST LIVERPOOL – Mary Ellen Sloan “Mamaw”Maze, 83, of Ashland Place, went to be with her Savior at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Sutton, W.Va., Jan. 12, 1920, daughter of the late Robert Bruce and Frankie Zaretha White Sloan, she was a lifelong resident of the area and a homemaker.
Her husband, Herbert L. Maze, died Feb. 18, 1981. Two sons, ‘Courtney Allen Maze and Herbert Lincoln Maze, also preceded her in death along with a granddaughter, Angel Fawn Maze; a sister, Anna Charlana Sloan Grise; and a brother, Robert Bruce Sloan.
Three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth “Red” (Mary “Jeep”) Montgomery of East Liverpool, Mrs. Lester “Babe” (Marlene) French of Bridgeville, Pa., and April Beadnell of Alliance, survive along with three sons, Rhett B. Maze Sr., and Ralph And Roland Maze, all of East Liverpool.
Twenty grandchildren, Kenneth, Charles, Amy, Christopher, Sarah, Carla, Wendy, April, Stacey, Robbie, Jim, Michelle, Rachael, Faith, Julie, Rhett Jr., Tammy, Missy, Jeremy and Brandie, also survive. There are 23 great-grandchildren and a grat-great-granddaughter.
Friends may call Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present form 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The Rev. Robert Merki of the First Church of the Nazarene of East Liverpool will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at eh funeral home.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park
Immediately following burial, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
