Richard L. Scott
Died April 1, 2004

EAST LIVERPOOL – Richard L. Scott Sr., 71, of Grant Street died at 3 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Presbyterian University Hospital following a short illness.
Born in East Liverpool Oct. 25, 1932, son of the late Robert Scott Sr. and Mildred Osborn Scott, he was a member of the Eat Liverpool High School Class of 1952.
A lifelong resident of the city, he was a retired union carpenter and also owned and operated Scotty’s Place.
A member of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association, he was very active with the Class of ’52 Committee. A member of the East Liverpool High School Athletic Hall of Fame, he was honored as a member of the 1950 State Championship Track Team.
An honorary life member of the East Liverpool Jaycees, he worked diligently to raise money for Special Olympics. He also was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 258.
His wife, Linda Cahill Scott, whom he married May 8, 1953, survives at home.
Two daughters, Leah Scott at home and Lisa Ramsey of East Liverpool, and four sons, Randy S. Scott of Midway City, Calif., Richard l. Scott Jr. of Cumming, Ga., Ronald J. Scott Sr. and Raymond C. Scott, both at home survive.
A sister, Margaret Oyster and her husband David of South Lyon, Mich., and a brother, Robert Scott Jr. of Longview, Texas, also survive.
There are six grandchildren, Jennifer Ramsey, Amanda Scott, Andrew Scott, Alycia Ramsey, Ronald Scott Jr., and Ryan Scott, and a great-granddaughter, Rayden Deem.
A sister, Jean Wood, preceded him in death.
Friends m ay call Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. An Elks service will be held at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Gary LeMasters will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Immediately following the services, family and friends will gather in fellowship at eh Dawson Family Center.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Robert Bycroft School, 35947 St. Route 172, Lisbon, OH 44432.
