John L. Bevington
Died Jan. 29, 2004

CALCUTTA – John L. Bevington, 76, formerly of Fredericktown-Clarkson Road, died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at the Calcutta Health Care Center, where he resided, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Chardon, Ohio, Oct. 18, 1927, son of the late James L. and Molly Deem Bevington, he was a member of the Lake Mount Church of Christ.
Having lived most of his live in the area, he worked in the melt shop and then later as a heavy equipment operator at the former Crucible Steel Co., retiring in 1982 after 33 years of service.

A member of American Legion Post 374, he was a past member of the national Rifle Association (NRA) and enjoyed Archery and golf.
A sister, Alice Sosack of Calcutta, and a brother, James A. Bevington of Negley, survive him along with several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Marylin May, and a brother, Thomas Howard Bevington, preceded him in death.
Friends may call Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Minister Jason Pancake of the church will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Lake Mount Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Columbiana county Memorial Park.
