ALEXANDRIA, VA. -- Allen A. Lyons, 86, died Sunday night at Barcroft Institute in Falls Church, where he had been a patient three years.
He was a former resident of 218 18th St., Wellsville, Ohio, where he was born Feb. 22, 1897, a son of Daniel Lyons and Julia Wells Lyons.
He retired in 1959 from the former Crucible Steel Division in Midland, Pa., and was a member of Lee’s Chapel AME Church in Wellsville.
His wife, Cleopatra S. Lyons, died March 24, 1978
Survivors include two sons, Raymond A. Lyons of Washington D. C. and Norman E. Lyons of Wellsville, a daughter, Mrs. Leota Newman of Alexandria, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are to be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the MacLean Funeral Home in Wellsville by the Rev. Franklin Jackson of Lee’s Chapel AME Church.
Burial is to be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
