Elsie Elnora Gamble Moore

CHESTER – Elsie Elnora Gamble Moore of Georgia Avenue, dide Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at East Liverpool City Hospital.
A daughter of late Harvey and Elsie Heckathorn McCoy, she was born on Aug. 15, 1916.
Elsie had owned and operated restaurants in the Chester area, and had worked at various restaurants throughout the tri-state area. She was a member of the Chester Church of the Nazarene, and was active in its Sunshine Sunday school class. She had formerly been a member of the Shippingport United Presbyterian Church.
Her first Husband, Ziska Gamble, preceded her in death along with her second Husband, Floyd Moore. In addition, a daughter, Elsie Gamble , a son Leroy H. Gamble, a grandson, Michael J. Slasor, and a great-granddaughter. Darian R. Slasor also prededed her.
A daughter, Alice Warrick and her husband, Dick of East Liverpool survive, along with a step son John Moore of Texas. Also surviving are three step daughters, Helen Chapman of Lisbon, Eleanor Birdwell and Janice Moore of Texas. Her brothers, Charles McCoy Sr. and Harvey A. McCoy of East Liverpool also survives along with a sister, Francis Miller of Chester. Grandchildren surviving are Jonnie Lorah, Tammie Gamble, Lorrie Moore, David W. Slasor, Douglas L. Slasor, Christopher A. Slasor, and Connie L. Slasor. In addition, there are 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Tim Haynes will conduct services on Firday at 11 a.m. at the Chester Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell. Friends may call at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Thursday where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church an hour prior to the services.
