NEW CUMBERLAND, W.VA.—Karen Jean Rice, 52, of New Cumberland, passed away, Thursday, January 25, 2007.
She was born on December 13, 1954 in Steubenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herman and Bessie (Yoho) Rice.
She formerly worked for Carriage Home Health as a nurses’ aide.
She was a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ, the Chester VFW Auxiliary, the Chester American Legion Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order o the Moose of East Liverpool.
She is survived by two brothers, Dwayne Rice and wife, Bev, of Hanoverton, Ohio, and Dr. E. Lee Rice and wife, Cindy, of East Liverpool; two nephews, Timothy Rice and Andrew Rice, two nieces, Lori Walters and Abi Rice; and two great-nephews, Luke and Logan. She was also survived by her best friend, Sandy Renaud of New Cumberland.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ of Chester, Evangelist Frank Higginbotham will officiate. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens of Newell, W.Va.
