NEWELL 00 William L. Theiss, 67, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004
He was born in Chester Feb. 10, 1936, a son of Katherine L. McGarron Theiss of New Cumberland and the late Paul E. Theiss.
He was a Vietnam Marine Veteran. A retired packer from Nation Church, he was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans of East Liverpool as well as a life member of the Chester Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Newell American Legion.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Theiss.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara “Diane” Taylor Theiss, at home; a son, William L. theiss and his wife Stacy of New Manchester; two grandsons, Zachary and Shane; and a sister, Mrs. Gary (Charlotte) Durham of Newell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14,2004,at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cloyce Burcham officiating. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens of Newell, where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord military services.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 614 Washington St., Newell.
