LENNYVILLE – David E. Gamble, 55, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003
He was born in East Liverpool on April 20, 1948, a son of Maude Nelda Cunningham Gamble of Newell and the late David Clarence Gamble.
A 1965 graduate of Oak Glen High, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed at Airco Wire Co., where he worked for 25 years. He had last worked as a machinist for the Friskies Half Moon Plant.
He was a member of the Newell American Legion and the Chester Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a former member of the Waterford Park Softball League. He was an avid hunter and a Methodist by faith.
Besides hi mother, he is survived by his wife, Debra Stine Gamble of Newell; two sons, David D. Gamble of Newell and Caleb Gamble; a stepdaughter, Zoe Schmidinger of North Carolina; two brothers, Joe Gamble of Newell and Gary Gamble and his wife Marcy of Newell; three nephews, Joe, Jared and Gary; and a niece, Shannon.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens of Newell, where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord military honors.
