Harold L. Shepherd

CHESTER – Harold L. Shepherd, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2003.
He was born Feb. 19, 1945, in East Liverpool, the son of Edith Bland Shepherd of Chester and the late Carl Shepherd.
He was a U. S. Marine Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, and had presently been staff Sergeant with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Company B 28th Signal Battalion in Beaver Falls. A 1963 graduate of Chester High School, he worked as an operator with the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a member of the Chester Untied Methodist Church, and the Chester Masonic Lodge 142, where he served as secretary and was Past District Deputy Grand Master. He was a member of the Shriners, Scottish Rite, and Eastern Star, where he served as a past patron.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Miller.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Anderson Shepherd at home; two sons, Brian Shepherd and his wife Valerie of Hudson, Fla., and John Shepherd of Fort Jackson, S. C.; a daughter, Dawn Shaw and her husband Jeff of East Liverpool; four grandchildren, Daniel, Amber, Brian and Brandon ; and two sisters, Helen Shipley and her husband Oscar of Kissimee, Fla., and Doris Hall and her husband David of Sunrise, Fla.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home, with the reverends James R. Dunmire and Debbie Dague officiating. Interment will follow at t Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens of Newell, where the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Company B 28th Signal Battalion, will accord military services.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
