CHESTER – George Allen Mott, 62, of State Route I, died at 7:55 p.m. Sunday, Jun 29, 1997, at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Hookstown March 24, 1935, a son of Elaine T. Healey Mott of Chester and the Late George A. Mott.
A Protestant, Mr. Mott was employed by Arco Chemical before retiring in 1995. He attended Hookstown and Hopewell schools. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 142 and O. C. A. W. Local 874. He was a discharged member of the Air National Guard in Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Mott.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Dona J. Shroades Mott, whom he married July 17, 1953; two sons, Gregory A. Mott of East Liverpool and Gary E. Mott of Chester; a daughter, Mrs. David (Dawn) Cecil of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Blaine Mott of Hookstown and Edward Mott of Norfolk, Va.; three grandchildren, including James A. Mott, whom he raised, and three stepgrandchildren.
The Rev. Mark Wildes of Fairview Presbyterian Church will conduct services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Burial is to be in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
