John Lyons Cornell, 68, a potter, died Thursday t 1:40 p.m. in his home, 546 River St., Chester, following a year’s illness.
A kilnplacer at the Taylor, Smith & Taylor Co., he was born in Georgetown March 13, 1885, and spent his lifetime in the community. He was a member of the IBOP.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Verna Cornell; five sons, Allen Cornell of East Liverpool, Joseph Cornell, James Cornell, Eldred Cornell and John Cornell Jr. of Chester; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Freeman of Wellsville, Mrs. John Boyle of Midland, Mrs. Geneva Holcomb of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Wilbert Weekley of Chester; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Bass of Columbus, and Mrs. Nora Martin of East Liverpool, and 21 grandchildren.
Rites will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester yt the Rev. Lewis Legg, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight and Saturday night at the funeral home.
